30th June- Day 3 Kruger

Another early start today, decided to go out for a early morning drive to see what we could see..  we headed back to the hideouts we visited yesterday and saw again some hippos and lots of birds. On the drive we saw a lot of buffalo crossing the road. There was a small pack of them, one by one crossing the road. Got some great photos here.

We came back to make some breakfast and pack up our things as we had to check out at 10am. On the way out again we went to the conference centre on camp for me (slou) to check my results.. graduating with a 2.2 in finance & accounting J definitely didn’t think id be getting a degree so you know.. very pleased, and what a better place to find this out?!

On the main road towards the next camp we didn’t see too much, a lot more elephants , springbok and other antelope which are everywhere in the park. We then took a turning down dirt tracks, finding more elephants giraffes and some monkeys. We kept heading towards a watering hole. Next thing we knew I (Charlie) spotted a lion in the grass. It was a she, she was standing there just watching something… we the learnt that she was stalking something. We stopped and watched for a while until she moved to chase her prey.  Was so awesome!!

We continued our journey to this watering hole, only to find we weren’t allowed down that track. So we continued to the look out. The was some toiliets there, so we shared a joint wee in the hole that was provided (in separate  “cubicles”) it STUNK!!!!!! We then climbed a few rocks to get a better view. Then all of a sudden we heard this huuuge growl/lions roars, we shat ourselves… making Jonny go first up the rock so we could get a could picture. We finally made it safely back to our vehicle…..

We then made our way to the camp, spotting more animals along the way. We checked in, unpacked and chilled for a little bit. Before heading out again to some watering holes. There ended up being all dried out so we could see much. But on our return to the came we kept running in lots of elephants.

Now we are just waiting for our food to be cooked on the Braii, chicken, pork chops and some more SA sausage… yum yum J

Tommmorow we have ANOTHER early start…. This time heading down to Jo’berg.

loves xxxx
