8th July- J-Bay

Sunday 8th

The Baz Bus picked us up at 7am to take us on to Jeffery’s bay.. we got to our hostel there at 8.15am and there were other people there!!!! Checked in, had a tour and made use of the free breakfast and tea that the hostel provided! We went out pretty much straight away, took a walk along the beach where we came across a lot of surfers, so we sat and watched them for a while. We then went backwards to the shops and got a drink and sausage roll. We heard there were a lot of outlet stores here so we went looking… we eventually found them so had a look round and picked out what we wanted, but being us we didn’t bring any money so would have to go back..

Once back at the hostel we chilled out and took full advantage of the free pool table. Charlie was clearly the best competitor here J.  After din dins we sat and watched War horse with everyone else and got an early night as we were shattered!

Monday 9^th

We got just in time for breakfast and to decide what we wanted to do. We got a surfing lesson booked for 10am. We got picked up and headed down to the beach.

Once all dressed in our very fetching wetsuits it was time to hit the waves! We got shown all the tekkers and as you all expect we bossed them! Ha! We did alright. Couldn’t believe how much hard work it involved. Totally different kind of fitness for this. Unfortunately our hockey ball chasing skills didn’t come in handy L we had a good go, neither or us could stand up. But we had so much fun pullin the titanic/wally woman move we didn’t care J

After our lesson was over, we headed to a café where we got 10% off because of our lesson. Who puts sauce on the outside of the wrap?!?!? How am I supposed to pick it up…fools!! Other than that was laaarrrrvly.! We then  went to the outlets and picked up what we wanted from the other day and headed back to the hostel.

After our marathon of a walk and beast of a surfing session we collapsed into bed for a few hours. Got showered etc and chilled. But poor little Cha Mal felt ill L so it was a really early night 730pm!!! and we went to bed one drugged up the other sober…

Tuesday 10^th

A mix of all the early starts weve had and the fact we went to bed real early last night.. at 7,30am we were wide awake!!!! So we waited till 8 to get up so we could get our breakfast which we sat on the balcony and ate! After we got ready and headed down to the beach! Today was the first day of the billabong pro surf competition so we thought we’d watch!!  Got ourselves a nice spot on the beach, watched from there until we got thirsty and managed to get a balcony seat which had a much better view, plus it was right next to the bar! A few 10am ciders.. its pm somewhere in the world J

Was real cool watching proper surfers and how they do it! They make it look SO easy but we tell you.. it isn’t! we still ache!! Was a nice day on the beach.. when it got to 3 tho we decided to head back as we had a lot of packing to do…

Dinner was the same as last night with the added luxury of cheese.. we had a couple of games of pool then joined some other backpackers to watch a film.. no idea what it was called but it was an ok film, however the ending… pffft rubbish!!!

By then it was 11 so we went to bed to make sure we didn’t miss our bus to Plett in the morning…
