3rd July- Jo'berg

After our big adventure in the Kruger, we decided to have a day off. We even had a lie in... thought i wouldn't call it much of a lie as we are too used to getting up early now :(
We caught up on washing and had a late lunch. This lunch was amazing, a nice Italian restaurant. two bottles of wine a coffee liqueur ice cream later, we were back chillin at jimmys. Of course it wouldn't be a trip out if we didn't get a little lost trying to find jimmys place again.... 
once back we updated our blog and chilled for the rest of the evening. A well earned day of rest we think. :)

Today (Tuesday!) we decided to venture into Jo'burg. We headed straight to the apartheid museum. This is because after talking to johnny and Jimmy there is so much history and politics we have never heard of about south Africa. so we went to the museum, was interesting. but they (africans) portray it the way they want to too see it. plus there was far too much reading so we got bored lol nevertheless, was still informative. 


afterwards Johnny took us to the Carlton Centre to the "top of Africa".. basically you went to the 50th floor of this shopping centre and you could look out over the whole of Jo'burg.. was really cool to see so far! wasnt the nicest of towns to be in if we're honest but was nice to actually visit a place you hear about so often.

we then went to the nicer part of town for some lunch.. went to a restaurant called ocean basket which was lovely. every place we have eaten at out here has been lovely! so much better than home restaurants thats for sure!! on the way home Johnny gave us a bit of a tour of the other suburbs of Jo'burg before we eventually reached Jimmy's... we didnt get lost this time.. improvement :)

when we pulled up at Jimmys there was a police car already on the drive.. ot oh.. the house at the back which is where Jimmy's son Matthew and family live had been broken into! they had a few laptops and electrical stuff stolen, plus the cheeky fxcks had taken off their shoes stolen matthews but left theirs there!!

to make things a little better.. we all had a lovely Braai with some beverages and chilled the night away!

have an earlyish start in the morning with a journey back to Durban.. let's see what adventure we have in store..
